John Teel, M.S., R.S.

John H. Teel is Vice President of Teel Consulting Services, a municipal consulting and training company located in Rowlett, Texas.  John received his B.S. degree in Zoology with a minor in Earth Science in 1976 from East Texas State University (ETSU).  He received his M.S. with a double major in Biology and Chemistry from ETSU in 1979.  Mr. Teel spent the majority of his career with the Garland, Texas, Health Department, first as an Environmental Health Specialist, then in various progressively responsible positions for 28 years, culminating with his appointment to Director of Health. 

Since his retirement from the City of Garland in 2006, John has performed consulting and training services for Irving, Bedford, Arlington, El Paso, Midland, Wylie, Weatherford, Farmers Branch, and Forney.  He has been a registered sanitarian since 1979, and is a past-president of the Texas Association of Municipal Health Officials.  Mr. Teel’s areas of expertise include:  Performance audits, customer service training, strategic planning, WMD planning and response, noise measurement and mitigation, storm water management, animal services management, and epidemiology.
